A nice feel to this. Since I've been playing geography games on my computer in an attempt to better know my world, I see the entire non-black area as a continent. Perhaps it is the country of joyful possibilities.
A Rorschach test--I see the gold area as figures raising their fists in the air in a defiant dance...fiery beings with crowns--thinking of your state of mind that way...
