An interesting post Lorraine. For me the most important aspect of art appreciation is visual...

That hits home Lorraine - when first painting I used my fingers till I wore out the nerve in one of them - other artists inquired about my technique as the paintings were thought to be so 'moody'...something I later found out was a good thing :) I miss that kind of painting.

Tactile here! Hate shops that deny me.

and as we touch, we begin to feel...tactile art is pretty cool, wether man made or natural...i particularly like art that touches all the senses...

happy thursday lorraine

This speaks to me of a more tactile, less cognitive experience, more involvement with the world, less ego-based. I like it and it resonates.

I think I need to feel more than touch.

To me this seems like it's about giving vs. receiving...although I've found that in my poetry, just like in other areas of my life, the more I give of myself and the more I put into my writing with the intention of touching someone else, the more I end up feeling and receiving...you know what I mean?

I need to touch things too and not only with the eyes !! ;-)

Personnellement je préfère ressentir. Le toucher est secondaire, pour l'art bien sûr!

Man is of a haptical character. We understand by touching things, and even when we don't know we want to possess, to get hold of them. I understand a bit of this micropoem.

Best wishes

Go back to it ;) sweetie minus rubbing off your fingerprints lol

LOL Kathy good girl :)

Lovely comment Brian, thank you :)

Mmmmnice interpretation Arlene, thanks very much!

Michael, always and it nearly destroyed me, art is easier :)

Very true and very beautiful Kristin, I hope you never run out ;)

Exactly, lol well said Namaki, ça va bien?

Richard, trop de sentiments t'écrasent, pour moi en tout cas :)

Yes well said Ralf, and what we need to possess so much ends up thrown away, well me anyway lol
as today's poem will attest to, sort of a sequel to this one ;)

Really like this pic Lorraine - the tree in the foreground, peering from behind it. The sparse leaves. Autumn and rustic.

Kind of "touchy-feely"
