looks like a garden herb my mother used to gives as 'cold medicine', only the rosettes were green not purple; it was called 'shandelier' bush(my spelling may not be correct)
your purple delights are beautiful! i planted several pots of flowers on my patio. but now that the hot weather is here, i'm getitng fewer flowers. well, my tomatoes, peas and melons are blooming, but those flowers aren't as spectacular looking as "real" flowers.

Those look like globe thistles! The ball shape always makes me smile as they remind me of lollipops! And these would be grape - my favorite :)
