Leaves in the tree
Trace the outline
of your face
Its innocence forever etched
In the shadows of the leaves

I see it sway
Develop with the breath
Of the wind
But innocence returns
If I look away

From any angles

Your child died yesterday
But you didn’t weep
The relief of tears unflowing
Pain lingers in many hearts
Strangers too
Mourn for them
Become one in prayer
How will they get up
With hearts missing
How will they go on
With no heartbeat
In God’s hand he sways
In God’s love he is surrounded
In God’s safety he is secured

Was it in green light or blue?
The veil lifted and you could see
The baby, the cradle and you.
Do you remember the air
Warm and tender, alive with musical notes
The breeze’s echoes tendering, nurturing
