Your child died yesterday
But you didn’t weep
The relief of tears unflowing
Pain lingers in many hearts
Strangers too
Mourn for them
Become one in prayer
How will they get up
With hearts missing
How will they go on
With no heartbeat
In God’s hand he sways
In God’s love he is surrounded
In God’s safety he is secured
A child is never lost

Remember.
Remember the Veil
Was it in green light or blue?
The veil lifted and you could see
The baby, the cradle and you.
Do you remember the air
Warm and tender, alive with musical notes
The breeze’s echoes tendering, nurturing
You had to leave for a short while
You will return home
As he did.

Good poem, Lorraine

Let me copy it here:

On Children,
Kahlil Gibran

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let our bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

**************

Let the world have stronger children, who seeks nothing but gives all :)

wishes,
devika

I love it Dev, and totally agree with it thank you for that wonderful wonderful text..Of course that's what I meant to say LOL
Don't you know by now that I don't mind anything and if I mind, I'll tell and you still won't make me angry lol

Brian, I know, I can't imagine if it had happened, if I could have dealt with it and this is knowing in my heart and in my soul that he would be loved and happy as he could never be on earth, but they our hearts :)

Thanks very much Ken :)

That is the way it is indeed Gautami, we just have to remember ;)

Colette Amelia, we can always have a virtual one lol I believe a Soul can't die, i know that children or babies that die are surrounded by so much Love, and knowing all that I still don't know if I could get up again

Agreed, thanks always Namaki :)

There is a lot of space in the photo which fills hearts with sadness; and the horizon, the divider, resonates the breaking of your poem into Verses one and two.

This is a good prayer. It shows hope. Like the prayerpoemsong of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who wrote it in a KZ, awaiting his execution. He was a protestant reverend and pacifist, who refused to follow Hitler (http://justus.anglican.org/resources/bio/133.html):

By gracious powers so wonderfully sheltered,
And confidently waiting come what may,
we know that God is with us night and morning,
and never fails to greet us each new day.

Yet is this heart by its old foe tormented,
Still evil days bring burdens hard to bear;
Oh, give our frightened souls the sure salvation
for which, O Lord, You taught us to prepare.

And when this cup You give is filled to brimming
With bitter suffering, hard to understand,
we take it thankfully and without trembling,
out of so good and so beloved a hand.

Yet when again in this same world You give us
The joy we had, the brightness of Your Sun,
we shall remember all the days we lived through,
and our whole life shall then be Yours alone.

This photo is exceptional. There is a tranquility here that matches perfectly with the verse.
