hmmm...pondering this one as well...

pound of flesh - revenge
broken heart - motive
human face - personal

hmmm....

In my case two pounds of flesh LOL
I agree Lorraine - it is up to us to stand up at the podium and admit our own involvement in our trials and tribulations. Humans are slow to learn and often it takes a 'broken heart' before we finally 'get it' and start making the right choices.

Actually I agree with it.

I hate broken hearts! In an ideal world, they wouldn't exist.

deep thoughts...and if you think about them probably very very true.

But is it ever Dev? to agree and disagree is good for argument in Court, but in poetry? I think not!

Brian, so many ways to translate being human, well done ;)

Janice, very true indeed ;)

Thanks Gautami, it's always nice to have your agreement ;)

Kathy, in 'the' ideal world, my friend, they don't ;)

Colette, sometimes thinking hurts ;)

Glad you enjoyed Kristin ;)

Yes, then it can, thanks for your comment Lynne :)

Merci Richard, un jour je vais m'acheter une excellente imprimante et là ç'a va peut-être valoir la peine lol

Very true, poetry is personal, yet there's an universality often....and i wasn't sure of it here,

thats all i meant, Lorraine.....I know this is NOT my courtroom :))

Lorraine, i feel bad about my last response here....to you, who gives me space for any blabber i shouldn't have said that....but then, i meant only so much Lorraine....

if all looked for a pound of flesh, this world could have been much more worse...don't you think?

does the spirit really need flesh to feel the oneness...i don't know

love,
dev

Dev
First you are right I fight against that oneness with others, it's one of my worst quality, I want to be alone...spirit needs the flesh only to learn what we need to learn, once we learn we can become spirits again

AND
Dev...why are you apologizing again lol the spirit absolutely needs the flesh to be able to live on earth, to experience humanity, to learn and learn and learn until we can be spirits forever....

Devika Jyothi said...

I understand and appreciate your view Lorraine...the first statement clarifies...I was just thinking of the other way....Spirit's oneness with humanity, and the Supreme One,

i apologise when i feel the need to, Lorraine...its a long held habit, though you give me freedom to say anything :)

I would do without the broken heart though ! :-)

Dev, yes I can see you as both lawyer and teacher, you have the necessary qualities, I mean that in a good way ;)

But then you wouldn't be as compassionate as you are now Namaki, right? lol
