Irritating haiga. Romantic, tragedy or fantasy? The viewer sees young airiness, but the reader hits on line three at the latest. Makes me think a lot.

Best wishes
Ralf

I like how the sleeping girl is oblivious to the activity around her. Loved the line "her back curves".

Irritation is a sign of quality in a poem. It is in a haiku as well, when the irritation belongs to the scene (my 50 ct). Here the picture is friendly and the verse is tough - and it was me who forgot to say: good one, Lorraine!

Best wishes
Ralf

LL,
__Your senryu reached me deeply, as did the photo... your haiga.
__The girl in her fetal position, the tenderness of the lass with the slight smile... her gentle care.
__The dichotomy may be, they are homeless by choice... run-a-ways? It matters little, as the hopeful sadness overcomes. Doug

That feels so loving to me. I'd like to be experiencing that - for just a few seconds, though; her position also looks a little uncomfortable.

Une très belle image journalistique Lorraine!

I know you do Brian, but my thinking here, party girls, look at them, they look cared for, the clothes are new and stylish and in fashion, maybe one-day runaways or partied a little too much..I've never seen them again :)

You can be silly Comrade!

Ralf you are a sweetie, you saw my insecurity under the smile lol thanks so much, I always love how easily you do those things, haigas, tankus...tankas....I thought a haiga or is it tanka was photo with words...not sure which is which and thank you for the 'irritating' compliment ;)

Doug, thanks so much I love your comment, this is one of my favourite photos, I don't think they're runaways, because they look too well cared for, and yes that slight smile on the girls face to me was priceless as the young girl's curved back...pray tell what IS a senryu
I though a haiga was words and photo and a haiku just words...but you called dit a senryu...?

Thanks very much Arlene, isn't the girl's smile as she bends a wonder x

Merci beaucoup Richard :)

__My opinions rarely count, and are simply that, opinions. The opinions of others, should not be overlooked.

My view, briefly.
__Senryu allows social, religeous, moral issues, while haiku refers more to nature and its relationship with people, both can show humor.

Your opinions count a lot to me Doug and finally I understand, thank you! now that I recall most of what I've read on blogs are haikus, hmmm good to know, thanks so much for taking the time to explain it to me....

__I hope you understand, LL, I consider myself a single Smelt in a very large school... and not a master of that school.
__But even a lowly Smelt can have a view that, needen't be infused on other fish in that ocean. Doug.

Gotcha _m, have no fear, i will not consider you a Master of all written things lol but really I finally understood, and I aprpeciate the fact that someone shed some light on it for me!
