Nice post, Lorraine...but, practically I don't believe in eternity, beyond the now...if i die now, thats it....and i don't know where my soul gets into next - could be any of those beasts that you hate, and i can't afford that....just saying, per chance :)

but seriously, our sciptures say such things about afterdeath....and it terrifies me to imagine,

love,
dev

Oh Dev the Soul never dies, and a human can not reincarnate into a beast...you have nothing to fear, when you die, I'll probably already be there and I'll say hey Dev, didn't i tell you....and we'll laugh together and listen to the beautiful music that enemates from the streams...

NO baba...its not that fear. I don't fear about what happens to my body or soul at or after death...why should i fear if i don't know what is to happen --Ignorance is bliss that way,

The fear i was saying was about imagining what is given in the books -- You have to read our Books if you need to understand what i am saying...and i guess the belief of such continuation of spirits in crows/ dogs/ cats and some other animals are known to other cultures as well -- and if you observe sometimes, you will have to doubt there's something supernatural about them :)

for me any heaven -- means on earth; i don't care much about after life,

dev

btw, each is a belief system Lorraine...that each cultures/religion have for their sanctity of customs -- I am no one to negate, than understand the belief systems :)

Lovit, LL!
__Too, I love these conversations, humbly, I add my view.
__Reincarnation; when one considers that all that dies goes back into, and enriches this Earth... and that all life is born from this Earth, can it then be said that... all life is reincarnation?
__Dev., isn't there something like that belief in the Mahabharata?
_m

Devika Jyothi said...

Yes, Magyar...but the soul is not believed to be joining the earth, but will take another life form until Moksha or salvation,

Its the Vedas that speak of reincarnation in detail...the Epics take from there and yes, Bhagavad Gita, a part of Mahabharata also states the belief -- and all the sciptures have the thread running,

Lorraine, with your permission :)

It's always sad to see the last of the leaves fall, but there's beauty in the bare branches, too. You captured that, Lorraine.

Interesting conversation...I do believe in eternity, it is heaven or hell, each individual makes their own choice by accepting Christ as their savior or rejecting Him. But that is my personal opionion..

La nudité de certains arbres a beaucoup de charme et tu le montres bien ici!
Bonne journée à toi.

Dev, I just can't wait and I hope I don't get ninny at that point but just jump into death lol

I love that Gillena, thanks a lot :)

Thanks always Kim, I love driftwood, or bare trees :)

Hey Cindy and the beauty of it all is that Jesus would accept everyone :)

C'est gentil, merci beaucoup, j'adore les arbres dans toutes leur interpretation

The common complaint against human re-embodiment is that we have no remembered knowledge of what happened before and, therefore, of the causes of our present troubles for which we are personally responsible. However it is forgotten that such remembered knowledge can only be had at the cost of re-suffering all the horrors and miseries of the past as well as all the joys...
If there was only one continuous earth life progress would come to an end and the past surround us like a wall. Without breaks in our life sequences, fresh surroundings, new contacts and different circumstances we would never be lifted to higher levels.

Lorraine said...

I agree with that Janice, imagine not being able to recuperate from a life good or bad or usually mixed - it would all mingle, and we couldn't retain any lesson, thanks m'dear

This is a beautiful and deeply resonant post, Lorraine, and I know we will all meet again in the next (and more joyful) world, regardless of our current beliefs, doubts and trepidations!
