Mine has always been the water -- i like a fluid, watery existence...but then it is where we (all life) came from....and by our custom it is where my ashes would go, in between also life seems flowing :)
my age had come to understand all that much before Lorraine -- if not my life, by looking at other lives....and as regards writing it- i agree, writing without saying it all is something i like myself :)
yes, always a leeway for what struggles we go through as individuals...but what we can't bear we don't hold on,
